In the spring and summer and fall when we have the windows open we hear the bells, but it's nothing like Europe. Because apparently when they installed their new bells, they ran afoul of the county 'noise' ordinance in terms of decibels and some cranky people took legal action to make them turn it down AND ring them less frequently.

Mean people are really stinky.SouthLakesMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08822510653198676631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1484142014229407289.post-74771108077660623682010-02-17T13:48:53.144-05:002010-02-17T13:48:53.144-05:00I can't comment really on the Olympics; we hav...I can't comment really on the Olympics; we haven't had a television for years and without that, well the Olympics don't happen LOL

But I do like church bells, especially if they're real bells, and not canned chimes from speakers. In West Virginia last year when I was looking at houses I considered one bang next to the Catholic Church (hey, never late for Mass again LOL) and while I'd love those bells on a Sunday morning, it occurred to me that perhaps I should think about possibly re-selling down the line---and no, maybe *not* a selling point for most people!

In Ireland, we hear the church bells every morning, noon, and again at 6pm, on the radio or television as well as in the open air. Our evening news is called the "6-one news" because it comes one minute after 6pm--after the Angelus has finished ringing.Susan at Stony Riverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10385202649291774852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1484142014229407289.post-60811995898535816132010-02-17T13:05:53.473-05:002010-02-17T13:05:53.473-05:00#4 that's me I jump from project to project ne...#4 that's me I jump from project to project never finishing one. Yes, I love hearing church bells ring from steeples. This is random (what better day for that), but I was organizing our church's library yesterday and while moving some marketing displays the metal leg hit a metal shelf and rang like a church bell. I banged them together on purpose the second time and announced to the others in the room, "I love church bells." I'm weird like that. :)

Thai Town - haven't heard of that one.Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09771913913727435049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1484142014229407289.post-8202588613920888122010-02-17T09:36:56.761-05:002010-02-17T09:36:56.761-05:00I like the holy land idea, my minister at my old c...I like the holy land idea, my minister at my old church actually planned a whole trip and he's leaving in April with some of the congregation, of course if I had a couple thousand dollars in my bank account I would be with them, it seem like a really cool place to visit.

Maybe you should do the luge, they're isn't much energy to that, you just need to push off in the begining and then lay down and control your speed. . .Hmmm or maybe bobsleeding that's a cool sport ;)

Chicken Cashew sounds really good. . .Maybe I'll have to try some Thai food.

Love all of your answers :)

I love hearing church bels, I actually miss not hearing them at the new house.

~C ♥Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17316936278464485876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1484142014229407289.post-89801885542008346522010-02-17T09:22:59.644-05:002010-02-17T09:22:59.644-05:00Congrats on winning the shirt.
