I am so sad about what happened in Norway yesterday. No, I have no connections with Norway. It's just very sad.

And I really dislike the alleged perpetrator being called a right-wing Christian.  Right-wing, fine. But no one who kills other people in this fashion is Christian. No one who spouts hate and fear mongering is Christian.

In Matthew 22:36-40, the Bible says:

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If we could REALLY do the first, the second, and all other commandments would naturally follow.

And in case you wondered, yes, it makes me sad when there is killing anywhere. Unfortunately, there are some parts of the world where it's not a surprise or a shock when it occurs. Norway is the last place one expects it so it is jarring.

Spoken so very eloquently. It is such a tragedy for all involved but I do wonder how the news will react with a right winged christian.

I totally agree.
Anyone who would do such a horrible thing is certainly not a Christian. Just claiming to be a Christian does not make it a fact. I can call myself a millionaire all day, but if I don't have a million dollars I am NOT a millionaire...I can call myself a Christian, but if I do not have the love of Christ in my heart, then I am not a Christian.

It really was devastating to read about. The atrocities committed in the name of God are pretty substantial. What's really sad about that is that there are people who turn away from God because of these examples, thinking that if THAT'S a Christian they want nothing to do with it. Sigh.
