The little story?  Well...I was trying to get my hands, and the camera, inside the bird cage without getting bitten, and without freaking her out too much, so I could get a photo of our sweet bird. This was the first attempt.

It's a good thing Quilly plays, because it always reminds me to play, too!  Tuesdays are very busy for me so its nice to slip it in.

Here's my muffed target from Easter. I have NO idea what was going on at this moment.

My Spring Break - Day 2

Spent the morning at the car dealership.  Supposed to be a minor maintenance check, and in the end, the cost WAS minor.  It just took a REALLY.LONG.TIME.  They have an appointment system, but their bosses tell them they cannot turn work away. So jerks who just stop by to get something done get squeezed in, which makes those of us who made an appointment have to wait longer.

However, their 'after action' surveys punish the service representative if you say anything that can be remotely construed as negative. And I like my service rep.  He's been taking care of my car since I bought it -- and he's always in the hot seat to get folks in and out of there, and has to take the heat when they don't like the news or the bill, or...

At any rate, I'm home now, and here's my MUFFED TARGET photo for the week.  Thanks Thom for hosting this!

We were trying to show the features of one of the pop-up books we had for sale during the Used Book Sale, but I had already taken about 30 photos of really expensive books and didn't want to take the time to set up a good shot of a $6 book!  Laziness = bad photos.

But, the book sold anyway.  So there.

Thom said this photo wasn't awful enough.  So here's another to prove that I can be underwhelmingly bad at photography!

I missed it last week.  I didn't realize it was Tuesday or that the meme was back.  I'm so glad Thom is "live" once more!  Resurrection is good for you, Thom!

So, here's the deal.  We all have horrible photos. Here's your chance to wallow in humility. Show us what you're made of. Because the chances are, we've done that SAME STUPID THING with our cameras, and you'll make us feel better.  That's right, you show us yours, we'll show you ours.

There are so many things wrong with this photo, it's easy to criticize!  The finger in the corner?  The lighting, or lack thereof?  Ai-yi-yi.  At least it's not like the old days when I would have had to print the photos to see how bad it was!

This is fall leaves a year ago.  What's worse, I have more that look like this.  I wish I could remember a) what happened and b) why on earth I didn't delete it right away!

Thanks to Thom who took over from Gattina, we can parade our ineptitude and stroke our humility!  Here's this week's Muffed Target!

I know this was in Halifax at the museum with an aquarium, but what else it was, I can't tell. I'm not even sure I was taking the photo at this point, but it's in my files, so it counts for my Muffed Target!

This fun meme, hosted by Thom, by way of Gattina, allows us to be irreverent about our own mess-ups.

I think it's better to admit we're not perfect than to try to hold it together all the time! So in the interest of imperfection, here is my muffed target for the week!

Looks like some alien creatures under a microscope! It's actually our neighbor's Christmas display, buried in 2 feet of snow with snow still falling. During our big snowstorm last year they invited everyone up to their house at the top of the street for a snow party. It was SO MUCH FUN . . . and we worked so hard trying to get through the drifts to get there and back, we burned off any calories we consumed!

Juliana kindly suggested that with a little contrast this would be a stunning photo -- so this is for here.  I actually did have a GOOD one, but for every good photo there are a NUMBER of bad ones too!

Wow - how did it get to be Tuesday again so quickly?  Here's my muffed target for the week.  Don't worry -- there are plenty more where this one came from!  If you want to express humility and humanity, join Thom in this great meme where even the best photographers (not me) have something in common with the little people -- TERRIBLE PHOTOS!

I'm sure that if I had been trying to take a photo of the dock this might have sufficed. But I wasn't. I'm not sure what the target was . . . but it was MUFFED!

Photographers should be humble.  Really bad photographers (like me) should be even more humble. Sure, I could delete this shot, but why not participate in Thom's meme (that he took over from Gattina) . . . muffed target.  We've all got 'em...are you brave enough to show 'em?

If I knew what the heck this was, I'd tell you.  I think it was "too dark" to be taking pictures on the lake from the shore...last summer. But it might be something else entirely.  And why is it still in my files? Too lazy to clean them out.

Because I like Thom, and he's such a prolific poster I can't keep up with all his stuff, I've decided to choose ONE meme he hosts and try to do it. Afterall, I have PLENTY of bad photos!  So here's my muffed target for this week. Thanks Thom for keeping this alive!

From last November for son's birthday. I was trying to show that the candles had colorful flames. We'll have to see if I can do better this year with the new camera!
