Microfiction Monday is the brilliant Susan's attempt to get those of us who are otherwise inclined to be wordy, to instead be BRIEF. One hundred forty characters worth of brief, riffing off the illustration she provides.
Here's this week's illustration followed by my caption:
Carapace of steel, other men's dreams have rendered you obsolete…but the ideals your occupant embraced are still righteous.

Excellent my friend. And so appropriate for this photo. Well done :)
Thom, you are one of these knights...we have all seen it in your selfless love of Quilly, Amoeba, and Susan. We admire you for it.
Brilliant! True gentle knights are rare - and well said about Thom!
Great language! (I love the word "carapace".) Perhaps your son should have been wearing a suit like this while playing football. Hope he makes a swift recovery.
A Man of Steel from Days of Yore, Nice to see a Knight that thought of Others.
Hope your Son is doing OK and feeling better.
Jabblog -- thank you. Thom is a sweetie, despite what he wants us to think.
Michael - once he has the hard cast, he'll at least one 10th the suit of armor to play in!
Bill -- I fervently hold on to my illusions of the Knights of the Round Table. Thanks for the good wishes for my son!
Hey Mom ~~ Thank goodness for those other men. This could get heavy after wearing it for a day or two.
I like it! Somehow your tale reminds me a little of the Mona Lisa song:
"Mona Lisa Mona Lisa, men have named you
You're so like the lady with the mystic smile
Is it only 'cause you're lonely, they have blamed you
...
Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?
Or just a cold and lonely, lovely work of art?"
Maybe because of the nonuse and no apparnt value for its use. ?? :) ??
..
I hope your son can stay in good spirits. If you baby him some that crankiness may go away. Keep him supplied with ice cream
..
Wow! It seemed like way more than 140 with all that it said. Great job! :O)
Terrific! Those true knights can't be forgotten. Hope your son heals quickly.
Those ideals can never be taken away - so true
sorry to hear about your son - hope all is well and for quick healing
Moon hugs
Sorry to hear about your son's wrist! My husband sprained his a couple of weeks ago and that was enough pain. I hope your son heals quickly and well!
