Microfiction Monday

Liberally lifting words from Susan's blog at Stony River, this is the essence of Microfiction Monday:

Microfiction means the shortest of short stories. Think Aesop's fables, comic strips, or even jokes: complete stories that can be told in under a minute. For this game, the limit is a tweetable 140 characters or fewer. (That includes all spaces and punctuation)

Every Sunday evening I'll (Susan will) post my her own 'microfiction' inspired by a photo or illustration, and invite you to do the same. . . You can leave your story in the comments there,  or better yet, post on your own blog and leave your link in Mr. Linky (on Stony River)

THIS WEEK'S INSPIRING PHOTO

and my story:

The Magical Mystery Tour took a sudden turn to the North, disconcerting the crowd inside who were enjoying all-you-can eat Lucky Charms.

I hate to see what happened if they didn't have their lucky charms.

This was actually inspired by a bake-sale some kids were having at the gym on Saturday. One boy thought that I would be really excited about the rice-krispie bars made with Lucky Charms. All I could see was the dye smeared through the marshmallow. I bravely declined saying someone more deserving than I would have to eat those . . . and bought a small poppyseed muffin that was tasteless, but had less dye!
